Since there is so much going on in everyones life these days, I figure I will give you some real quick tips.

Everyday…

Update your anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spyware software.

Perform a backup, an incremental would be good. Check out the several other articles on this site about this.

If a program crashes, save everything and reboot the PC. If one crashes the tendancy is for it to crash and cause other programs to start crashing. Just reboot, that solves a lot of ills.

That ought to be short and sweet enough, have a virus free day!

Stopping animation on web pages

This post is primarily for those of you still on Dial-up or with cheapest “high speed” internet money can buy.

We can speed up your surfing of some web sites by attempting to stop the animations that play. Now, web developers use different ways to create animations, this is just one way to stop some of them.

Those moving pictures (cartoons) on web sites are called animated GIFs on some web pages. They will slow down your browsing especially if you use a dial-up connection. You can easily turn them off in Internet Explorer. Continue reading
